Next-generation power equipment, made to a specification you set.
Continuous condition data from live lines, so crews inspect what needs inspecting.
Survey and monitoring in confined below-grade environments where access is slow, costly, or unsafe.
Client: Provincial Grid Operator
2016
Manual substation patrols were dangerous, and consuming 40 hours a week.
A 330kV substation required twice-daily visual and thermal inspection across 60 checkpoints. Commercial patrol robots on the market weren't built for substation safety protocols, and none integrated with the operator's existing monitoring system.
We built a tracked patrol unit with a stabilized thermal and visual head, routed against the operator's existing checkpoint map.
Patrol labour replaced. Thermal abnormalities detection rate increased by 60%.
Ten years on, we still maintain that unit. It's the reason the data is still worth trusting.
A failure mode, an inspection route that costs too much, a site nobody wants to send a person into.
Thirty years in the industry means we know which elegant solutions don't survive contact with a substation.
Custom equipment, tested against your operating conditions. We maintain what we build, for as long as it's in service.

Mechanical engineer. Thirty years in power. Mother, entrepreneur, and the engineering judgment behind every Tonghe build.
Hui started Tonghe in 2015 with a small group of grid specialists and research partners. The work has been the same since: take what an operator actually needs, and make it exist.
Strategic Growth, North America
Cyndi leads North American partnerships. She's usually the first person you'll talk to, and she'll stay involved after that.
Founded in 2015. We built our expertise grid by grid, alongside research institutions and the people who operate these networks daily. Networks are built on attention to detail. That's true of a transmission line and it's true of the relationships that get one built. We're opening ours outward — global reach, same close attention.
